Essential Organic Spelt Grain. An ancient variety of wheat, native to the U.K. Use the nutritious whole grain, on its own, or in a mixture, as you would wheat grain. Makes a good Carbohydrate-based side dish for a balanced diet. Cook using 1 part grain to 3 parts boiling water, cook until 'al dente' - approximately 45-60 mins.
Spelt is a good source of nutrients, including protein, dietary fiber, vitamins (such as B vitamins), and minerals (such as iron, magnesium, and zinc).
It contains gluten, but some people with wheat sensitivity find Spelt to be more easily digestible than modern wheat.
However, it is not suitable for those with celiac disease.
