Black peppercorns are the dried, unripe fruit of the pepper plant. They are harvested and sun-dried, turning the outer skin dark and wrinkled. Whole peppercorns retain flavour longer than pre-ground pepper.
Flavour & aroma
Pungent, sharp, and warming with earthy undertones. Freshly ground black pepper is much more aromatic and complex than pre-ground powder, offering subtle hints of citrus and pine.
